Stanley Cup Betting Favorites After 2025 Trade Deadline

Stanley Cup

We had quite an interesting 2024/25 NHL Season so far, and it culminated with the 2025 trade deadline. Teams have conducted their business, some as usual, some with a tad bit more activity, but the last part of the regular season is ahead of us, and with a limited number of games the playoff picture is slowly shaping up.

The bookmakers were also the ones adjusting to the latest roster changes happening all over the NHL. The same way the NHL franchises, or at least some of them look different player-wise, so have the odds adjusted. If you’re even remotely into NHL betting, you need to see the new odds, and set your wagers accordingly. Let us take a look at who are the current favorites to go all the way and lift the Stanley Cup when it’s all said and done in 2025.

Florida Panthers +650

If you’re a true betting man you will look no further than +650 odds on the Florida Panthers. The team from Florida has added the likes of Marchand and Jones and they’re now looking poised to make a return to the Stanley Cup final in back to back years. Many sportsbooks have them as favorites, and many bettors have covered them even before the trade deadline. All that is left for the Panthers is to get Matthew Tkachuk for the playoffs and they can go all the way.

Dallas Stars +700

Stars have decided not to rely on stars and destiny but to make moves and make their roster better. Dallas’ GM did one hell of a job by adding a superstar in Rantanen to the squad, and now they have an elite skater and a top scorer on the books. The only question surrounding Mikko is whether he will be the same player without Nathan MacKinnon having his back. If you ask us , he has the necessary tools to be successful in Dallas. If he gets off to a hot start, the Stars are in a  good position to go far in this calendar year.

Edmonton Oilers +800

The Oilers are a peculiar bunch at the moment.  At the trade deadline they’ve picked up Jake Walman from San Jose Sharks in an attempt to shore up their defence that appeared awful at times with Bouchard and McDavid losing the plot at times together with their goaltenders. Trend Frederic is also now on the books, and they will look to turn the tides in the next few weeks and make a run for it. All that it takes is for Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard to start doing what they do best and what they failed to do regularly during the year.

Carolina Hurricanes +1200

It is a weird way how the hockey math works but Hurricanes are now a better team once they have offloaded Mikko Rantanen. He was not a good fit in Carolina, and they will look to turn a new leaf in the next few weeks and gear up for a deep playoff run. The player they got in exchange with Dallas Stars is Logan Stankoven and they can only hope that the centre will be a better fit. Nonetheless, their odds to win it all remain good, and we hope at the end of the year to see how far can Hurricanes push it this season.

The rest of the odds cover Washington Capitals at +1000, Colorado Avalanche +1000, Tampa Bay Lightning +1100, and Golden Knights at +1200. Who do you have?
