Spring Teases, But Sunday Brings Wind & Rain Drama

Toronto’s weather for March 15-17 brings warm temps, rain, and a windy Sunday with gusts up to 80 km/h. St. Patrick’s Day will be cooler but calm

Toronto is in for a temperature rollercoaster this weekend, with mild highs, rain showers, and a special weather statement warning of strong winds and heavy rain on Sunday. If you were hoping for a peaceful St. Patrick’s Day, you might need to swap your green outfit for a raincoat and hold onto your hat!

Winds will pick up, shifting to southeast at 30 km/h, helping to warm things up to a comfortable high of 15°C. The UV index is at 4 (moderate), so a little sunshine might sneak through.

By tonight, the skies remain mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of lingering showers before steadier rain moves in overnight. Winds will stay from the south at 20 km/h, and temperatures won’t drop much, with a low of 10°C—a relatively mild night for March.

Sunday, March 16: Wind, Rain & Thunder Risk

A Special Weather Statement is in effect, warning of heavy rain (15-25 mm) and wind gusts up to 80 km/h. By nighttime, rain showers may transition into flurries as temperatures plunge to -2°C. Talk about a wild weather swing!

Monday, March 17: A Cooler, Calmer St. Patrick’s Day

After Sunday’s chaos, Monday will feel much calmer. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with a cooler high of 6°C. Winds will settle, and the evening will bring cloudy periods with a low of -1°C—chilly but manageable.
