(Thunder Bay, ON) – February’s 50/50 was all about spreading the love, and now Leanne Miller of Gorham is feeling it in a big way as February’s grand prize winner, taking home a life-changing $1,752,315.
Miller received the incredible news just as she was about to order lunch. She was out with a friend and her newborn when the call came in, completely taking her off guard. “Am I the winner?” she asked in disbelief. “I’m losing my mind right now.
Torin Gunnell, Manager of Lotteries, who made today’s life-changing call to Leanne, asked if she had any first ideas about what she was going to do with the money. Leanne shared, “We are building onto our tiny little home for our growing family, and it will help pay off the mortgage and build this new addition.”
When talking about her reasons for what made her buy tickets for the 50/50, she shared that she has been buying for a long time now. “Even if I don’t win, I love supporting the hospital. It’s such a good thing we are doing for everyone here in Thunder Bay.”
And the first phone call she was going to make? “My husband, who probably won’t even believe me.”
