ABPA Board of Directors to Attend PDAC in Toronto and Host Panel on Ring of Fire on March 3rd

February 27, 2025 – Robinson-Superior Treaty, Fort William First Nation Territory, Thunder Bay, Ontario: The Anishnawbe Business Professional Association (ABPA) is pleased to announce that four of its Board of Directors (Jason Rasevych, Jason Thompson, Tony Marinaro and Steven McCoy) will be attending the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) annual convention in Toronto from March 2nd to 5th.

The ABPA will be hosting a panel discussion titled “Mining with Purpose: Integrating ESG, Sustainability, and Indigenous Reconciliation in the Ring of Fire” on Monday, March 3rd from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase. The panel will explore the critical intersection of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, sustainability, and Indigenous reconciliation in the context of the Ring of Fire mining development.

Expert panelists will share insights on best practices, innovative approaches, and key challenges in building meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities, advancing economic reconciliation, and ensuring the 7th Generation mindset of mining projects in the Ring of Fire.

Learning Objectives:

● Understand the importance of integrating ESG principles in mining operations in the Ring of Fire, particularly in the context of Indigenous partnerships and reconciliation.

● Learn about innovative approaches to ESG and sustainability in mining projects in the Ring of Fire.

● Identify key opportunities in advancing economic reconciliation through Indigenous participation in the Ring of Fire mining sector.

● Discover best practices for building and maintaining respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships with Indigenous communities in the Ring of Fire.
