ZAGIME ANISHINABEK, SK – NEWS – Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is actively investigating the suspicious deaths of four individuals on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation. Police presence remains heightened in the area as officers work to locate a suspect who was seen pointing a firearm at individuals on Zagime Anishinabek earlier today.
Suspect Identified, Public Urged to Remain Vigilant
Investigators have identified 29-year-old Keagan Panipekeesick as the armed suspect from the Zagime Anishinabek incident. He is described as:
- Height: 5’10”
- Weight: 170 lbs
- Hair: Brown
- Eyes: Blue
- Distinguishing Mark: Tear tattoos on his upper right arm

On February 4 at approximately 11:15 a.m., File Hills First Nations Police Service responded to reports of sudden deaths at a residence on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation. Upon arrival, officers discovered four deceased individuals. The cause of death has not been disclosed as authorities work to notify next of kin.
Later that day, around 3:15 p.m., Saskatchewan RCMP received multiple reports of a male suspect brandishing a firearm at people on Zagime Anishinabek. While it remains unclear if the two incidents are related, law enforcement is maintaining a strong presence in both communities.
Residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant, avoid locations with an active police presence, and report any suspicious activity. Saskatchewan RCMP continues to assess whether a dangerous person alert is required.
