City Crews Continue Digging Out After Heavy Snowfall

Thunder Bay, ON – January 29, 2025: While the snowfall has eased, the work to clear roads and sidewalks continues. The City of Thunder Bay has provided an update on snow removal efforts:

Road Plowing

🔹 Crews began re-plowing priority routes at 2 AM, covering arterial, collector, and transit roads. These are now complete.
🔹 Residential street plowing is ongoing and is expected to wrap up by Friday.

Sidewalk & Trail Plowing

🔹 Sidewalks along arterial, collector, and core area streets were cleared starting at 3 AM and will be finished by the end of today.
🔹 Residential sidewalks and trails will be plowed after priority areas, with completion expected by Friday.

Sanding & Salting

🔹 Crews will be out all week, applying sand and salt to ensure safe travel conditions.
