Kenora Shivers Under Bitter Cold; Snow on the Horizon

Kenora, ON – Residents of Kenora and the Lake of the Woods region are waking up to a frigid start to the day. Temperatures plummeted to -25.5°C this morning at the Kenora Airport, with wind chill values making it feel closer to -33°C.

Environment Canada is forecasting a mix of sun and cloud today with a high of -18°C, but the wind chill will remain a significant factor, hovering around -38°C in the morning and easing slightly to -26°C in the afternoon.

Frostbite Risk High

Residents are urged to take precautions against frostbite as these extreme cold conditions can cause tissue damage quickly.

Snow on the Way

The frigid temperatures are expected to persist, with periods of snow predicted for Friday. Environment Canada is calling for 2 to 4 cm of accumulation, accompanied by strong winds.

Weekend Outlook

The weekend will bring a mix of cloudy skies and flurries. Highs are expected to remain below freezing, with lows dipping into the -20s.
