Emergency services on scene as injuries are being assessed

NIPIGON, ON – Traffic on Highway 17 between Nipigon and Rossport is currently blocked in both directions following a collision reported at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday, according to Ontario 511.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) informed Dougall Media at 12:45 p.m. that emergency services are actively attending the scene, and assessments of injuries to those involved are ongoing.

The highway remains closed until further notice. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to avoid the stretch and plan alternate routes.
