SASKATOON, Sask – SPORTS – Set to begin its tenth season as the nation’s premier bull riding series, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada’s nationally-televised Cup Series will hold 10 events throughout 2025, visiting as many cities across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan.

PBR Canada heads into the 2025 season riding strong momentum from 2024 with events setting attendance records for the organization in nine Canadian cities.

For the fifth consecutive season, the PBR Canada National Finals will be held in Edmonton, Alberta, at the state-of-the-art Rogers Place, awarding a record-tying $250,000, including a $100,000 bonus to be presented to the 2025 PBR Canada Champion.

The elite Cup Series features Canada’s top bull riders, alongside some of the PBR’s top international athletes, squaring off against the rankest bucking bulls in North America. Fans will witness exhilarating 8-second rides and wrecks throughout the action-packed event as the PBR’s courageous riders face off against their 1,800-pound animal-athlete opponents.

PBR Canada’s Cup Series is televised nationally on the TSN family of channels, bringing the heart-pounding action to fans across the nation.

For the fourth consecutive season, the 2025 season will launch on February 1 in Red Deer, Alberta, with the PBR Red Deer Classic at Peavey Mart Centrium.

In February 2024, Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia) got off to a hot start, briefly holding the No. 1 rank in Canada as he went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the PBR Red Deer Classic.

Less than one month later, the Cup Series will return to VisitLethbridge.com Arena in Lethbridge, Alberta for the seventh consecutive season, on February 28-March 1 for the PBR South Country Co-op Showdown.

In 2024, continuing to ride in seemingly unstoppable form in Lethbridge, Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) defended his title as South County Co-op Showdown winner by going a flawless 3-fo-3 inside ENMAX Centre. Tetz has now won every Cup Series event in Lethbridge since 2022.

The win was Tetz’ first of 2024 as he went on to win a record-setting 12 event titles across both the Cup Series and Touring Pro Division en route to winning the 2024 PBR Canada Championship. He is now one of just five riders to win the coveted national title multiple times.

The Cup Series will then travel to Brandon, Manitoba, for the fourth time in as many years, holding the PBR Mazergroup Chute Out at Westoba Place at the Keystone Centre on May 23-24. Following strong and growing attendance the past three seasons, including a sold-out show in 2024, the PBR Canada Cup Series will expand to two nights in 2025.

As June gets underway, PBR Canada will return to Ontario, with two events. The nation’s premier tour will first return to Canada Life Place in London on June 6-7.  After the Cup Series set records in 2024 in London, the event will expand to two days in 2025.

This past June, in front of a sold-out crowd, two-time PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) went a perfect 2-for-2 to capture the event win. The victory was one of eight for Coverchuk, a prime season long contender for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship, ultimately finishing No. 2 to Tetz by less than 300 points.

Remaining in Ontario, the Cup Series will then buck back to Ottawa and the home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, Canadian Tire Centre, on June 14.

Nearly one month later, the tour will hold its only mid-week show in Kelowna, British Columbia, on July 17 at Prospera Place.

Following a two-month break, the Cup Series will resume on September 27 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, at Bonnetts Energy Centre.

Making a subsequent stop in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Co-op Place on October 18, the regular season will conclude in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at SaskTel Centre for the fifth consecutive season, Oct. 24-25.

For the fifth time in history, the PBR Canada National Finals will be held in Edmonton, Alberta, at Rogers Place. After a season-long battle, the 2025 PBR Canada Champion will be crowned following the two-day, season-culminating event on Nov. 14-15.

The 2024 PBR Canada National Finals concluded one of the nation’s most intense seasons, as Coverchuk and Tetz battled it out until the final outs of the season for the title of PBR Canada Champion.

While Tetz travelled to Edmonton trailing then No. 1 Coverchuk by 21.75 points, he delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance inside Rogers Place to win the National Finals event title along with the 2025 PBR Canada Championship. Tetz earned a record-setting $153,375 inside Rogers Place, concluding the 2024 campaign having earned an unprecedented $249,622.29 on home soil. When the dust settled, the Calgarian finished theseason a torrid 34-for-61, covering 55.74% of his animal athlete opponents.
