Driver Arrested for Dangerous Operation and Refusing Breath Sample

(DRYDEN, ON) – The Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment has charged a 34-year-old man following a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in the Township of Zealand.

Incident Details

The collision occurred on December 2, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Upon arrival, OPP officers investigated and determined that one of the drivers had been consuming alcohol. When asked to provide a breath sample using an approved screening device, the individual refused.

Charges Filed

Conor Jones, a Barrie resident, faces the following charges under the Criminal Code:

• Dangerous Operation
• Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

Next Steps

Jones has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on January 20, 2025.
