Winnipeg Police Arrest Second Suspect in March Homicide

Winnipeg, MB – A woman previously wanted in connection with the death of 56-year-old Edgar Allan Bear has been arrested.

Breanne Joan Bruyere, 25, was apprehended on October 7, 2024, by Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol officers with assistance from the Tactical Support Team. She is charged with Manslaughter and Obstructing Justice.

Bear, a member of Peguis First Nation residing in Winnipeg, was found deceased with a gunshot wound at a residence in the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue on March 18, 2024.

Police previously arrested Maxim Dale Garneau, 27, and charged him with 2nd Degree Murder in relation to this incident. Investigators have confirmed that both Bruyere and Garneau were known to Bear.

Bruyere is currently in custody.
