Winnipeg – Teenager Killed in Early Morning Shooting on Boyd Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Crime News – A 16-year-old boy is dead following a shooting in Winnipeg’s North End early Saturday morning.

Winnipeg Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of Boyd Avenue around 6:02 a.m. on October 5th. Officers arrived to find the young victim suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds near the intersection of Boyd and Andrews.

The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Police have notified the boy’s family.

Homicide Unit Investigates

The Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. They are asking anyone with information about the incident, including potential video surveillance footage, to come forward.

“Anyone with information regarding the incident, including video surveillance, is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org,” stated a police representative.
