Outdoor Burning Regulations and Safety

As we move into fall, the public is reminded to be cautious with outdoor burning. Consider alternatives like composting or using local landfills for yard waste and woody debris. If burning is necessary, follow Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations:

  • Fires can only be ignited no sooner than two hours before sunset and must be extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise.
  • Ensure you have sufficient tools and water on hand to contain the fire.
