The fire hazard is mostly low to moderate across the region, though a high-risk area stretches from Caramat to east of Hearst and north of the Poplar River.

Outdoor Burning Safety: Adhere to Ontario Regulations
As we transition into fall, Aviation, Forest Fire, and Emergency Services urge residents to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning. Use alternatives like composting or landfill disposal for yard waste whenever possible. If you must burn, follow the regulations:
- Fires should be started no earlier than two hours before sunset and must be extinguished within two hours after sunrise.
- Always have proper tools and water ready to contain the fire.

No Drone Zone: Keep Forest Fire Areas Safe
Flying drones near forest fires is both dangerous and illegal. Drones pose a threat to pilots, firefighters, and other emergency responders. Stay clear of forest fire zones.
Waterbombers: Stay Clear for Safety
If you see a waterbomber approaching a lake or river, move close to the shore. Waterbombers won’t scoop if there are boats or watercraft nearby that create safety hazards. Stay safe, stay clear.
