Fire Safety Reminder: Outdoor Burning
With fall approaching, Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services reminds everyone to be cautious when burning outdoors. Consider composting yard waste or using local landfills for disposal. If burning is necessary, follow Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations:
- Fires must be ignited no earlier than two hours before sunset and extinguished within two hours after sunrise.
- Ensure you have water and tools on hand to control the fire.

Drone Safety: Keep Clear of Forest Fires
Flying drones near wildfires is not only dangerous but illegal. It puts pilots, firefighters, and emergency responders at risk. Stay safe and keep your drones far away from fire zones.
Waterbomber Safety: Stay Clear of Watercraft
If you’re on a lake or river and see a waterbomber, move your boat near the shore. Waterbombers can’t scoop water if watercraft create safety hazards.
