LONGLAC, ON – A traffic stop on Highway 11 near Longlac on September 19, 2024, led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
At approximately 4:03 p.m., officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted the stop, uncovering suspected illicit substances, crack pipes, and cell phones, all associated with drug trafficking. The driver and two passengers were arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code.
The following individuals face charges:
- Aarisen ABRAHAM, 22, of Longlac, ON, charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
- Status: Held for a bail hearing, remanded into custody, with a court appearance set in Thunder Bay.
- Brady BOUCHARD, 22, of Longlac, ON, charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
- Status: Released from custody, scheduled to appear in Longlac on October 30, 2024.
- Iman Ahmed Mohamed ELSAWY, 27, of Hamilton, ON, charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
- Status: Released after a bail hearing, with a court date in Thunder Bay on October 31, 2024.
