A Mix of Weather as Toronto Heads Into the Weekend

It’s a bit of a weather rollercoaster for Toronto over the next few days. We’re looking at showers, some sunshine, and cooler temperatures heading our way.

Friday, September 6 – Showers with Thunderstorms Possible

Today, expect cloudy skies with a few showers, which will kick off later in the morning. There’s also a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, with rainfall amounts between 10 to 15 mm. Temperatures will reach a high of 22°C, but thanks to the humidity, it’ll feel closer to 27°C. Winds from the northwest will pick up to 20 km/h around noon. Keep that umbrella handy, folks! As the evening rolls in, showers will continue into the night with a low of 12°C and more thunderstorm possibilities.

Saturday, September 7 – Cloudy with Cooler Conditions

Saturday looks cloudy with a 40% chance of showers, and cooler temperatures settling in. The high will be just 16°C, and gusty northwest winds of 20 km/h will make it feel even brisker, so a light jacket is definitely recommended. By night, things will calm down a bit with cloudy periods and temperatures dipping to a chilly 8°C.

Sunday, September 8 – Mix of Sun and Cloud

Sunday brings a nicer change with a mix of sun and cloud, though there’s still a 30% chance of some showers. The high will reach 18°C, which is cool but pleasant enough for outdoor activities. Sunday night will be calm, with temperatures around 13°C.

Looking Ahead – A Gradual Warm-Up

Monday will see a return of some warmer weather, with highs reaching 23°C and plenty of sunshine. Things will warm up further as the week progresses, with highs of 25-26°C on Tuesday and Wednesday (Environment Canada).

Historical Weather Trivia

Did you know? The highest recorded temperature in Toronto on this date was a sweltering 32.8°C back in 1945. Today’s high of 22°C is quite tame in comparison!
