Gertrude Avenue Search Results in Arrest and Confiscation of Multiple Weapons
Thunder Bay – An investigation by Thunder Bay Police Service into suspected drug trafficking has led to the seizure of multiple firearms and ammunition. Officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a warrant at a Gertrude Avenue residence on Thursday, August 29, following ongoing surveillance.
The suspect, Brayden FARRELL, 20, of Hamilton, was arrested without incident outside the residence. Upon arrest, police found him in possession of suspected crack cocaine and a knife.
A subsequent search of the residence uncovered a range of firearms, including a shotgun, rifle, two handguns, and a concealable single-fire handgun, along with ammunition.

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under $5,000)
- Careless Storage of a Firearm (5 counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (2 counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm (4 counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition (4 counts)
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (6 counts)
- Breach of Probation
Farrell appeared in court last week and remains in custody pending a future court date.
