THUNDER BAY, ON – A structural fire on North Harold Street was swiftly contained by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR) earlier today. The fire broke out at approximately 11:43 a.m. in the 100 block of North Harold Street.

The incident began when a family member, who was outside the home, heard a smoke detector go off. Upon entering, they discovered smoke on the second floor and immediately called 911.

TBFR responded promptly, deploying six Pumpers, an Aerial Ladder, and a Command vehicle to the scene.

Thanks to the rapid response, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, confining the fire to its room of origin and preventing further spread.

Safety Reminder: Thunder Bay Fire Rescue urges all residents to ensure that working smoke detectors are installed on every level of their homes.
