Marten Falls and Webequie First Nation invite Indigenous communities and the public to attend Open Houses in Thunder Bay, Geraldton, and Timmins.
Thunder Bay – The Northern Road Link project is conducting a series of Open Houses in northern Ontario. The first is an Indigenous Community Open House which will be held in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre.
The upcoming Open Houses will focus on the ongoing assessment of alternatives, baseline studies, and the Indigenous Knowledge Program for the Northern Roal Link. The Open Houses will start with a 20–30-minute presentation on project updates, followed by the opportunity to visit different stations to discuss various topics and speak to Project team members. The Open Houses will also be livestreamed through the project website: www.northernroadlink.ca.
The Open Houses are part of a coordinated Environmental Assessment/Impact Assessment (EA/IA) under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, and the federal Impact Assessment Act for the design, construction, and operation/maintenance of a proposed all-season multi-use road called the Northern Road Link project (the Project).
The proposed Project is located between the proposed Marten Falls Community Access Road (MFCAR) and the proposed Webequie Supply Road (WSR).
