THUNDER BAY, ON – Thunder Bay Police have arrested a suspect linked to two break-ins at local businesses where vehicles were stolen.

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, the Thunder Bay Police Service received a report of a break-and-enter at a commercial property on the 1200 block of Carrick Street. The suspect entered the business compound, stole a pickup truck and a trailer carrying a personal watercraft, and drove through the gate to flee the scene. Later that day, the stolen truck was found heavily damaged, and the trailer and watercraft were also recovered.

This time, the suspect broke into the compound and an office, stealing another pickup truck and additional equipment, damaging the gate during the escape.

The Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit took over the investigation and determined that the same individual was responsible for both incidents. On the afternoon of August 23, officers located a suspect matching the description, along with the stolen vehicle, and made an arrest.
