OPP arrest two and seize vehicles in ongoing weapons investigation in Sioux Lookout. Suspect still at large

SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment, with support from multiple specialized units, has made two arrests and seized two vehicles as part of an active investigation into a weapons incident in Sioux Lookout.

On the afternoon of August 16, 2024, OPP officers responded to a disturbance involving weapons on Millar Crescent. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and authorities have confirmed that the incident appears to have been targeted, with no ongoing threat to public safety.

The investigation, led by the OPP’s Northwest Region Crime Unit (NWR Crime), Major Case Investigations Team (MCIT), Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and Regional Support Team (RST), is still underway.

Police are actively working to identify and locate the outstanding suspect.

The OPP is committed to maintaining public safety and assures the community that all necessary resources are being utilized to resolve the situation.
