Atikokan OPP Investigate Suspicious Residential Fire on Starr Street

ATIKOKAN, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Atikokan are investigating a residential fire deemed suspicious in nature. On August 14, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers from the Atikokan Detachment responded to a call about a fire at a single detached home on Starr Street. When emergency services arrived, the residence was already fully engulfed in flames.

The fire completely destroyed the home and caused damage to two adjacent buildings. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The investigation is being supported by the Rainy River District OPP Crime Unit and the Town of Atikokan Fire Rescue Service.
