SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON – A 31-year-old individual from Kingfisher First Nation has been arrested and charged following an assault in Sioux Lookout on August 14, 2024. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. near Town Beach, prompting a swift response from the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Upon arrival, officers found an injured individual who was promptly transported to the hospital by EMS. Shortly after, police located and arrested the accused.
The individual has been charged with:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Spousal
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – two counts
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on August 15, 2024. The OPP has withheld the name of the accused to protect the victim’s identity.
