THUNDER BAY – August 14, 2024 – A Thunder Bay man has been charged with arson following a residential fire on the city’s south side. Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to reports of a structural fire at a home in the 100 block of Bethune Street at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13.

When officers arrived, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews were already on scene working to bring the fire under control. Firefighters informed police that the blaze appeared to be the result of arson.

During their investigation, officers located a suspect matching the description of an individual seen leaving the scene around the time the fire was discovered. The suspect, identified as Jordan Fisher, 30, of Thunder Bay, was arrested and taken into custody.

Fisher is now facing multiple charges, including Arson, Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence, Possession of Break-In Instruments, and Breach of Recognizance.

The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody pending a future court date.
