OPP Lay Drug Trafficking Charges in North Caribou Lake

NORTH CARIBOU LAKE FIRST NATION – A routine checkpoint inspection in North Caribou Lake First Nation has led to drug trafficking charges against a local resident.

On August 12, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the North Caribou Lake detachment teamed up with North Caribou Lake Checkpoint Guards to conduct a standard vehicle inspection. This led to the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit substances, including cocaine and opioid pills.

Trina Roundhead, 29, of North Caribou Lake, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Roundhead has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Provincial Court on October 10, 2024.
