Thunder Bay Man Faces Multiple Assault Charges, Including Assault on Police Officer

Thunder Bay – NEWS – A 43-year-old man has been charged with multiple counts of assault, including an incident involving a police officer, following an altercation in the city’s south side.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at around 9 p.m., Thunder Bay Police Service officers from the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the 100 block of Amelia Street West after receiving reports of an assault. According to police, the suspect was involved in an altercation with a male victim and allegedly struck the victim in the head with a piece of wood.

Paramedics assessed the victim at the scene.

Officers located a suspect matching the description provided by witnesses nearby. During the arrest, the suspect assaulted one of the officers.

Daniel Robert DOMBROWSKY, 43, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Assaulting a Peace Officer
  • Breach of Recognizance
  • Failure to Comply with a Probation Order

DOMBROWSKY appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody, with a future court date pending.
