Jasper is experiencing rain today with widespread smoke due to wildfires. The temperature will reach a high of 14°C with rain expected to bring 10 to 15 mm of precipitation. Winds will come from the south at 20 km/h, gusting up to 40 km/h. The UV index is low at 1. Tonight, the rain will taper off near midnight with a 30% chance of lingering showers. The low will be 9°C, and the smoke will persist.

The evacuation continues due to the wildfire, and it is hoped that today’s weather might let fire crews back into the town of Jasper to fight the wildfire that has already destroyed buildings. There has been widespread damage to structures in the town, with reports of a Petro Canada station “blowing up”​.
