THUNDER BAY – Weather – Showers and thunderstorms are affecting parts of Northwestern Ontario as a low-pressure system moves through the region. Rainfall totals could reach 30 to 50 mm in the heaviest showers, and some thunderstorms may produce wind gusts up to 70 km/h.

If stronger winds or hail (nickel-sized or larger) are anticipated, severe thunderstorm watches or warnings will be issued.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms continue to impact Northwestern Ontario this morning.
