THUNDER BAY – Wildfire Update – As of late afternoon on July 11, one new wildfire has been confirmed in the Northwest Region:
- Nipigon 18 (NIP018) – Located near Peeagwon Lake, approximately 60 km southeast of Wunnumin Lake First Nation. The fire covers 11 hectares and is currently being observed.

- Recent Developments: One fire has been called out in the past 24 hours.

Safety Reminders
Waterbomber Safety: When waterbombers approach a body of water, move close to the shore to allow them to scoop water safely. Waterbombers will not scoop from a lake or river if watercraft pose a safety hazard. Be safe, and stay clear of waterbombers.
