Homicide Investigation Leads to Arrest in Winnipeg

Homicide Investigation – Arrest: C24-149754

Winnipeg, MB – On July 1, 2024, at approximately 12:14 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured adult male in the 600 block of King Edward Street.

West District General Patrol officers arrived at the scene and found the unresponsive male, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Officers arrested an adult male suspect nearby.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and identified the victim as 43-year-old Eugene Rob Ryan Little of Winnipeg. Family notifications have been made.

Investigators determined that the victim and the suspect, who were known to each other, had been involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical assault.

Dion Tyson Jamie Wood, 23, of Winnipeg, has been charged with manslaughter and is currently in custody.
