Traffic Stop by Dryden OPP Leads to Drug Trafficking Charges

DRYDEN, ON – NEWS — Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP detachment.

On June 26, 2024, just before 7:00 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in Satterly Township. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine and oxycodone.

As a result of the investigation, Leroy Vincent, 57, of Wabigoon, and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The accused individuals have been released from custody. Leroy Vincent is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 15, 2024, in Dryden. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 23, 2024, in Dryden.
