Oilers Thrash Panthers 8-1, Keep Stanley Cup Hopes Alive

The Edmonton Oilers roared back to life on Saturday night at Rogers Place, delivering an 8-1 beatdown to the Florida Panthers and keeping their Stanley Cup dreams on life support!

The goal lamp was lit by seven different Oilers, with Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman both notching their first goals of the final round. But the star of the night? Dylan Holloway, who found the back of the net twice! And let’s give a shoutout to Stuart Skinner, who was a brick wall with 32 saves in net.

On the flip side, it was a rough night for Sergei Bobrovsky. The Panthers’ goalie was sent packing in the second period after surrendering five goals on just 16 shots. As he skated off, the hometown crowd let him hear it with a thunderous “Sergei, Sergei” chant.

Despite this epic victory, the Oilers still face a daunting challenge. They trail 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. Only one team in the history of the Stanley Cup playoffs—the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs—has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win it all.
