Urgent Appeal for Information on Suspected Homicide
WINNIPEG – NEWS – The Winnipeg Police Service has issued a call for public assistance in connection with a homicide investigation, under case number C23-220195.
This request follows the distressing events of September 10, 2023, when officers, including the Tactical Support Team, were dispatched to the 200 block of College Avenue around 6:45 p.m., following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, a 25-year-old male, later identified as Daniel Raymond GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ, was discovered outside an apartment building with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ succumbed to his injuries.
The Homicide Unit, after extensive investigation, has linked the tragic demise of GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ and Edgar Allan BEAR, 56, to a single suspect, though the cases appear unrelated.
Maxim Dale GARNEAU, 27, has been identified as the person of interest, with two charges of Second Degree Murder officially filed against him and arrest warrants issued.
Public Urged to Assist but Not Approach Suspect
The authorities have issued a warning to the public regarding GARNEAU, deeming him dangerous and advising against any attempts to contact him directly.
The Winnipeg Police Service urges anyone with information about GARNEAU’s whereabouts to reach out to the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or to provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS or online.
