On the afternoon of March 18, 2024, at around 4:40 p.m., officers from the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a home located on the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male.

The individual has been identified as 56-year-old Edgar Allan BEAR, a respected member of the Peguis First Nation, who had been living in Winnipeg.

The Homicide Unit is actively continuing the investigation, and the area around the scene remains secured for further examination.
