Urgency of Update Released Before Christmas

Apple has just rolled out updates for iOS 16.7.4 and iPadOS 16.7.4, along with iOS 17.2.1. These updates are crucial for resolving a problem related to the reinstallation of built-in apps. Previously, in iOS and iPadOS versions 16.7.3 or earlier, users who removed a built-in Apple app encountered difficulties reinstalling it. According to the update’s release notes:

“The latest update resolves an issue preventing the reinstallation of previously deleted built-in Apple apps.”

Although there haven’t been widespread reports of this issue, it’s possibly due to most users having upgraded to iOS 17. However, for those experiencing reinstallation issues with built-in apps on iOS 16 or iPadOS 16, this update offers a solution.

In addition to these fixes, the iOS 17.2.1 update includes other bug fixes, though Apple hasn’t disclosed specific details.
