Ryan Shakes has announced a temporary hiatus from creating videos to prioritize his health. The TikToker shared this update on his Instagram in late November, revealing that he had been hospitalized due to a severe allergic reaction caused by chronic hives.

In describing his condition, he stated, “I had a very bad allergic reaction to my own sweat. Dealing with this rare condition called Cholinergic Urticaria for about 4 months now, where elevated temperature triggers uncontrollable hives from head to toe, happening every day.”

Expressing the challenges he faces, Ryan mentioned, “I can no longer carry out everyday activities independently due to its debilitating nature, and currently, no doctor has provided answers.” Despite the difficulty, he conveyed his determination to take a break and focus on his well-being, expressing gratitude to his followers.

Many on social media commented wishing him a speedy recovery including fellow rapper Flo Rida who left three praying hand emojis and others showing love in the comments section.

Having engaged in various projects throughout the year, such as promoting Nintendo’s ‘Everybody 1-2-Switch!’ video game in Japan and participating in the social media marketing campaign for the Dumb Money – GameStop Story Movie with Sony Pictures, Ryan has had a busy schedule. Additionally, he has signed with talent agency Viral Nation and is in the process of rebranding ShakeyFam, with a new line of products expected to launch by the end of the coming year.

Looking ahead, once he recovers, the TikToker plans to explore acting opportunities, stating, “I hope to start taking on acting jobs and strive to level up in that field. Although I’m uncertain about what leveling up entails in that realm, it has been a long-time calling of mine, and I’m eager to see what it takes.”
