The Root Causes of Crime: Understanding the Underlying Factors

Thunder Bay – NEWS – One of the members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit spotted a female known to have an outstanding warrant while driving on the north side of the city.

The situation escalated when the driver parked her vehicle on Ravenwood Avenue, leading to her apprehension based on the active warrant.

Upon detaining the individual, a subsequent search of both the vehicle and the female yielded the discovery of substances suspected to be cocaine, fentanyl, and Clonazepam, alongside various drug paraphernalia.

The suspect in question, identified as Ellen Yvonne CHASE, 31 years old, was promptly escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

There, she faced charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of trafficking Fentanyl, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Clonazepam.

CHASE made an appearance in court on Thursday, and has been remanded into custody, pending further legal proceedings.

The Thunder Bay Police Service continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of the community through proactive operations and arrests of individuals linked to criminal activities.
