Aggravated Assault and Firearm Charges
DRYDEN – NEWS – In Vermilion Bay, an altercation at a local residence on November 24, 2023, has resulted in serious charges for Lyle Gushulak, 59. The Dryden OPP, along with the North West Emergency Response Team, responded to the scene where they found an individual with injuries.
Charges Laid
Gushulak faces several charges under the Criminal Code:
- Aggravated Assault
- Pointing A Firearm
- Discharge With Intent
- Unauthorized Possession Of A Firearm
- Careless Use of A Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device Or Ammunition
Legal Implications
These charges carry significant legal consequences. Aggravated Assault, defined under Section 268 of the Criminal Code, involves wounding, maiming, disfiguring, or endangering life and can result in a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.
