KENORA – NEWS – On November 23, 2023, the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) apprehended Lawrence RICKLEFS, a 51-year-old resident of Kenora, following a traffic stop on Eighth Avenue South. Officers noted the vehicle being driven erratically, leading to the stop and subsequent investigation.

Charges and Legal Implications

RICKLEFS faces charges under the Criminal Code for Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus). This charge indicates driving with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. Conviction can result in penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment, depending on the severity and any prior offenses.

Court Appearance and OPP Commitment

RICKLEFS has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on December 14, 2023.
