Thunder Bay-News- Thunder Bay Police officers were dispatched to Eira Avenue at approximately 11:15 p.m. on November 22, 2023 on a report a of a male sitting in the drivers seat of a running vehicle in a locked compound . When officers arrived the vehicle proceeded to smash through the locked gates. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued through a second gate and exited the compound causing significant damage. Officers discontinue the pursuit of the vehicle.
A few minutes later, another officer located the unoccupied vehicle on the Harbour Expressway. Eventually a male exited the bush area with his hands up and was taken into custody.
Ivan, Winter, 24 years old has been charged with:
– Mischief Over $5,000 x2
– Flight from Police
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Impaired Operation
– Refusal to Comply with Demand
He appeared in court and was released with a future court date.
