Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Significant Seizure
FORT FRANCES – NEWS – On November 11, 2023, the Rainy River District OPP conducted a traffic stop in Fort Frances, uncovering illicit drugs and weapons. The seized items included crack cocaine, fentanyl, oxycodone, a firearm, an imitation firearm, and Canadian currency.
Charges and Legal Implications
Bobbi-Jo Thomas, 41:
- Charged with possession of imitation and real weapons for a dangerous purpose, and possession of Schedule I substances (cocaine and opioids).
- Potential penalties include up to 10 years in prison for weapon charges, and life imprisonment for drug possession.
Alysha Biggeorge, 36:
- Charged with possession of imitation and real weapons for a dangerous purpose, and possession of Schedule I substances (cocaine and opioids).
- Released with a court date in December.
