OPP Advise on Highway 72 Road Closure Due to Flooding

Dryden – Roads Update – The Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has issued a road closure advisory for Highway 72 in both directions. The closure extends between 17 Highway in Dryden and 664 Highway in Sioux Lookout. The closure is in effect due to flooding in the area.

Reportedly a beaver dam broke, and that has caused the flooding. A very Canadian road closure!

At this time, there is no detour available for motorists affected by the closure. The estimated duration of the road advisory remains unknown, as authorities continue to assess the situation and work towards resolving the flooding issue.
