THUNDER BAY – NEWS – There is a significant police presence at Pearl and Court Street in the city’s north-side this morning.

Seven units of the Thunder Bay Police Service are on scene.

Traffic is impacted at Cumberland and Pearl as of 06:00 am.

Please avoid the area to allow Thunder Bay Police to do their job.

Newshawks report that the incident started at around 4:30 am EDT when police, the k-9 Unit and tactical unit officers responded.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the primary response unit were dispatched to the 200 block of Ambrose Street just before 4:30 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 following reports of a disturbance in the area.

Officers remain at the scene and the public is advised that an increased police presence is expected in the area as the investigation continues.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit are now involved in the continued investigation.

Reports are of a gunshot heard that led to the police arriving on the scene.

UPDATE

As of 9:00 am EDT Court Street and Pearl is open. Ambrose Street is blocked between Court and Cumberland.

Crime Scene tape is up. Three Units from Thunder Bay Police are on scene.
