KENORA – Roads Update – Niiwin Wendaanimok Partnership would like to inform the public that blasting will be taking place on Highway 17 at the Clearwater Bay #25 (Rush Bay Quarry) located 0.4 kms East of Rush Bay Road on the North side of highway on Thursday, June 30.

Blasting is taking place to supply granular for the twinning of Highway 17 from the Manitoba border.

Blasting will take place approximately 400 meters from the road, and blasting will be directed away from the road.

Contractor will use distance to ensure that flying rock and other potential debris does not travel towards the roadway. Flaggers will be utilized to stop traffic from entering the area when blasting is about to occur.

Expect traffic delays.

Blasting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
