THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Both eastbound lanes on Oliver Road are closed at Balmoral Street as police continue to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Emergency first responders were originally dispatched to the reported collision just before 2 p.m. on Monday, June 27.
Police learned that a pedestrian was crossing the roadway in the area when they were struck by a pickup truck. The truck came in to contact with another motor vehicle after the initial collision with the pedestrian.
The motorist of the vehicle struck by the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
The pedestrian involved was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further evaluation and treatment of their injuries. The extent of those injuries remains unknown at this time.
Police continue to hold a scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
Motorists are asked to avoid this area until further notice.
