The cruise ship Viking Octantis arrived in Thunder Bay at Pool Six

THUNDER BAY – The cruise ship Viking Octantis arrived right on schedule in Thunder Bay this evening.

The cruise ship had spent the day at Silver Islet at the foot of the Sleeping Giant.

The 660 foot long cruise ship was built in 2021, and this is its second trip into Thunder Bay this year.

Thunder Bay is a turn-around point for the Viking Octantis. Passengers will disembark the cruise liner on Saturday morning, as the new passengers will board the ship on Saturday afternoon.

The Viking Octantis will be in Thunder Bay all day Saturday before departing on Sunday at a scheduled 05:00 am departure.

It is taking on supplies on Saturday stocking up on fresh food, and supplies before it heads back to Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Passengers will be touring the Waterfront District, Kakabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park on Saturday.

The Octantis will be at Pier Six it is berthed just east of the Alexander Henry – Coast Guard Icebreaker which is part of the Lakehead Transportation Museum.

There will be tours available of the Alexander Henry all weekend.
