Thunder Bay – Politics – First time political candidate Alan D. Corbett has filed nomination papers in Westfort Ward.
Corbett tells NetNewsLedger that his goal is to be a representative who listens to the people in the ward.
Corbett says, “I am officially your Councillor candidate for Westfort Ward!” Thank you to all those whom I received nominations from. Our discussions will continue when I see you all again, and I look forward to seeing some of you whom I haven’t seen in many years!

Incumbent ward councillor Kristen Oliver, the former chair of the Thunder Bay Police Services Board, has not filed her re-nomination papers.
In the Red River Ward, incumbent councillor Brian McKinnon has not filed nomination papers.
Challengers James Dean Marsh and Jason Veltri have filed their paperwork challenging for the ward.
500 Donald Street East has reportedly been concerned that there are not more candidates coming forward. The nomination period is a month longer this time, and NetNewsLedger is told that several candidates are keeping their political powder dry for now and will be filing in time.
