THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have arrested a Thunder Bay man and a Toronto man following their search of a south-side apartment Wednesday evening.
Police officers with the TBPS Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 100-block of May Street North just before 5:15 pm on Wednesday, June 15.
The police were granted the warrant as a result of their ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity in the area.
When police entered, two male suspects were located inside the apartment.
Both were arrested without further incident and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
A search of the suspects and a search of the home resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine, more than $5,000 CAD, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Tyshawn MORRIS, 23, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Harry Gordon SMITH, 61, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Both appeared in bail court on Thursday, June 16 and were remanded in custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail with future appearance dates.
