Thunder Bay Police Investigating Homicide on Shipley Street

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – On Wednesday June 1, 2022 at approximately at 2:55 am the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Primary Response Unit responded to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center in regards to a male who had arrived with serious injuries.

A 19-year-old Thunder Bay man has died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center.

This is the 5th homicide in Thunder Bay in 2022.

Investigators with the Thunder Bay Police Service Major Crime Unit have now taken over the investigation.

Members of the Forensic Identification Unit have also become involved.

As a result of the on-going investigation the Thunder Bay Police Service identified an address on Shipley Street, and another on Brock Street East associated to the ongoing homicide investigation.

A police presence remains in these areas as the investigation continues.

These investigations are complex and resource intensive. Officers from the various units within the TBPS have been aiding the Major Crimes Unit as these investigations have been unfolding.
